COPS: Kidnapper barricaded with shotgun…
FALMOUTH – According to a FPD press release, at approximately 9:48PM last evening, officers received a report a man had forced a woman at gunpoint to drive him from Dennis to Falmouth.
The suspect was reportedly eventually dropped off by the woman in East Falmouth.
Officers determined the suspect was inside a house 94 Old Meetinghouse Road, in the middle of residential neighborhood.
Officers believed the suspect to be armed and dangerous, and possibly suicidal.
Officers surrounded the residence and took precautions to ensure the safety of nearby neighbors.
The Upper Cape Special Response Team, consisting of Officers from Falmouth, Mashpee, and the Barnstable County Sherriff’s Department, was activated and responded to the scene.
Officers secured the area and made multiple attempts to contact Blake.
At about 4:08 am this morning, the suspect surrendered peacefully to Officers at the scene.
Gregory Blake, age 27, of Falmouth, was placed under arrest, and charged with multiple offenses, including Kidnapping, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Threats to Commit Murder, and Possession of a Firearm without a License to Carry.
Other charges may be pending.
Once Mr. Blake was safely in custody, Officers searched the residence and found a shotgun and ammunition.
Neither Mr. Blake nor any Officers were injured in this incident.
