DAD HELPS MOM DELIVER BABY AT HOME: Mom did most the work, he says…

HYANNIS – Police and firefighters rushed to a third-floor apartment at Cromwell Courts for a mom who had just delivered a baby at home, at around 7:00 p.m. this evening.
The mom had reportedly just been at Cape Cod Hospital and told she could return back home because she wasn’t quite ready yet. Although her baby had a very different plan when they arrived back at their third-floor apartment…
Mom found herself in full labor and that’s when Elie, the father, was able to step in and help her deliver. Elie told HN that it was the first baby he had ever helped deliver and that he had learned his delivery skills by watching YouTube videos. He laughed and told HN that he was “YouTube Certified.” And thank God he was… and thank God he was there to help…
The at-home delivery reportedly went smoothly. It was mom’s 4th baby and sources tell HN that both mom and baby were in good health.
When the first police officers arrived, mom was warming her newborn on her chest. And Hyannis Rescue arrived shortly thereafter to help “cut the cord.” Firefighters then bundled both mom and baby up and carefully carried them down several flights of stairs to an awaiting ambulance.
Both mom and child were transported to Cape Cod Hospital while dad went back upstairs to care for their other children.
The latest “unofficial” word is that tonight’s newborn was a “boy,” according to sources on scene. (Everything happened pretty fast, and HN will provide additional updates if and when they become available.)
Congratulations mom and dad!
