HN VIDEO: DCF removes infant from Hyannis hotel after all points search for “evasive” parents…
HYANNIS – It’s a sign of the times, the state removing children from their parents and families…
… for a litany of reasons, some valid, some questionable.
Last evening’s HN Video tells an all too familiar tale, where you’ll see the end result of an all points search which lasted hours, involving police officers from all over the region…
Barnstable Police were assisting the “Department of Children and Families” (DCF) locate an infant who was still in the custody of a husband and wife.
According to all-point bulletins broadcast throughout the evening, local police were being told to be on the lookout for a male subject and his wife, in the custody of an infant (specific details and circumstances were not released, only that DCF intended to remove the child…).
The couple and infant were reported to be traveling in a pickup truck somewhere in the Hyannis area, with alleged intentions of evading contact with DCF.
Police in Yarmouth and Barnstable began checking hotels in the Hyannis/West Yarmouth area, with negative results.
Members of the local detachment of the Massachusetts State Police were also notified, along with municipal police officers across the region…
As the search wore on, Barnstable Police patrol command staff was able to acquire intelligence indicating the subjects were likely staying somewhere within a tight block of buildings in the East End of Hyannis.
At about 2:00AM, Barnstable Patrol Officers quietly saturated the area and hit pavement making observations and looking for clues…
The pickup truck was not located, but because “the heat” was on due to officers closing in, the male subject decided to make a fateful phone call to police, asking questions about what was going on…
