Hyannis – At 4:11pm police and Hyannis Rescue responded to a call and discovered a body in the bushes between Cromwell Court Apartments, 168 Barnstable Road, and Cape Cod Hardwood Floor Supply…
Hyannis Rescue examined the body for signs of life but found none…
Sergeant Caiado called for detectives and the scene was cordoned off with crime scene tape…
Barnstable Police Detective Peter Ginnetty responded to the scene for the initial part of the investigation…
Later, members of the Massachusetts State Police CPAC unit assigned to the Cape and Islands arrived, took photos, and removed the body.
The area surrounding the Cromwell Court Apartments has had it’s share of crime over the years… However, initial comments from the scene indicate there was likely nothing suspicious about tonight’s body…
The body appeared to be a male in his 50’s… possibly homeless…
Officers spent some time speaking with personnel at one of the local homeless shelters in an attempt to identify the body.
