Dennis Police investigating after mother heard crash from daughter’s unoccupied apartment… [HN VIDEO]
DENNIS PORT – A mother called police after hearing a crash coming from her daughter’s neighboring apartment early this morning, at about 1:15 a.m.. The mother also reported that a window had been knocked out in that apartment, according to police radio transmissions. It was particularly alarming because the apartment should have been unoccupied this particular morning. Unsure if someone was still inside, the mother returned to the safety of her own apartment and waited for Dennis Police Officers to arrive.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, after determining the apartment was empty, a member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded to photograph and gather possible evidence, looking for possible finger prints, along with any foot prints outside in the patchy areas of snow. Police focused on an open window on the front of the residence, trying to determine how it was opened, whether forced or not, etc…
Additional responding Dennis Police units broke off and began searching the downtown streets, noting anything or anyone suspicious.
Officers checked back to the address throughout the morning, once in particular when a dog at the apartments began barking, something he doesn’t usually do… but officers didn’t find anything upon arrival…
The incident remains under investigation by the Dennis Police Department as additional evidence is being followed up on…
