WILD CRASH IN WEST DENNIS: Chevy Camaro bounces off roof before landing on its side between two parked cars… [HN VIDEO]
UPDATE – Media Statement from Lieutenant Peter Benson of the Dennis Police Department:
On Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 7:51 pm officers from the Dennis Police Department responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash at 257 Route 28, West Dennis. On arrival officers found the operator of the vehicle involved in the crash with injuries that were being tended to by witnesses/bystanders at the scene.
The investigation revealed that a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling west on Route 28 at an excessive speed when it crossed over the center line of the road, and left the south side of the roadway. The vehicle stuck the curbing, crossed a sidewalk and continued into the yard at #257 where after striking a rock, the vehicle went airborne. Once in the air the vehicle struck the corner of the apartment at #257 Route 28 causing damage to the building, finally landing between two parked vehicles.
The operator of the vehicle, a 23-year-old male from West Yarmouth, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by the Dennis Fire Department Rescue. The operator will be summonsed to court for the following charges:
– Speeding
– Failure to Stay Within Marked Lanes
– Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
The crash is being investigated by Dennis Patrol Officer David Mahoney.

INITIAL HN REPORT:
WEST DENNIS – A Chevy Camaro traveling along Route 28 somehow went airborne earlier this evening before bouncing off the roof of a house (leaving a gaping hole), and then landing perfectly on it’s side between two parked cars.
The wild crash happened just before 8:00 p.m. in the area of 253 Main Street/Route 28.
The male driver was taken to CCH by Dennis Rescue with unknown injuries.
The Dennis building inspector was called in to investigate and they were patching the hole in the roof with a tarp at the time of this report…
