Armed bank robber still at large… [Video]
Hyannis – The Eastern Bank at 375 Iyannough Rd was robbed at approximately 12:15pm…
Initial radio traffic mentioned a handgun may have been shown…
… also that the suspect fled on foot out the front door and toward the rear of the bank…

The suspect was described as a thin white male wearing a white sweatshirt and green vest… possibly a blue cap… just over 5 feet tall…

Police quickly set up a perimeter and saturated the neighborhood to the rear of the bank…

Update 12/4/2013 6:30pm: Shortly after 2:15pm today, Animal Control Officers confiscated a brown pit bull from 17 Thach Lane... The pit bull is said to have escaped and killed a Yorkshire Terrier last night... The owner of the large breed terrier was not at the residence when officials showed up to take the dog... Several Barnstable Police units provided security for the Animal Control Officers... police also escorted the Animal Control van out of the area... the dog was taken to an undisclosed location where it will be quarantined...

The Cape Cod Times is reporting that the Yorkie was bitten and actually died in the arms of its owner.
The pit bull owner's name is David Henning and his dog will be held until a hearing determines what to do about the situation...
The following photos show the fenced in area that the pit bull owners trusted to contain their dog... a determined pit bull could easily fit through any one of these holes...
