ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION: Police scour streets around CCH after man arrives at ER with gunshot wound… [UPDATED]

ACTUAL YPD UPDATE: On Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at approximately 9:18PM, Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officers and Detectives responded to Cape Cod Hospital to speak with a 25 year old man who is well known to Cape Cod Law Enforcement in regards to him being the victim of an armed robbery at an unknown location in vicinity of Bayview Beach in West Yarmouth.
Police Officers arrived in the Emergency Department and spoke with the victim as he was being treated for an apparent non-life threatening gunshot wound to one of his hands.
The victim is expected to fully recover and the investigation is active and ongoing.

HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] – Cape Cod Hospital Security notified Barnstable Police after a man showed up in the emergency room with a gunshot wound.
Shortly after 9:00PM last evening, first officers on scene learned the “shooting” possibly occurred in the area of the hospital on Bayview Street, which runs along the town line between Barnstable and Yarmouth.
Yarmouth Police also responded to CCH and it was quickly determined the incident likely occurred on their turf.
Officers from both departments scoured the streets and sidewalks for a blood trail and other evidence. From what HN observed, officers and detectives were unable to locate any blood or other evidence…
Police are certain the man has a gunshot wound. What they don’t appear to know at this point, is exactly how that happened. The investigation is active and ongoing, and official details have yet to be released.
