DID ROYALTY JUST LAND IN HYTOWN?: Is this HN footage actually of Prince Albert II of Monaco and entourage landing today at Barnstable Municipal Airport? [HN MYSTERY]

HYANNIS – [HN NOTES] – I must admit I didn’t know much about Prince Albert II of Monaco before I woke up “this morning” at about 3:30 PM. (actually “this afternoon” for most normal people…)
I don’t do much Paparazzi work either, usually just stringer news footage…
… so I had no idea Prince Albert II is the son of American actress Grace Kelly when the mysterious text messages started coming in this afternoon.
(Note: In 1982, Grace Kelly tragically suffered a stroke and died at the untimely age of 52…)
The mysterious text messages began with “The Prince of Monaco will be arriving at Hyannis airport today at 6pm and heading to a dinner at 224 quissett ave woods hole… please keep my number anonymous.”
It was 5:32 PM when I received the text and was heading out the door to buy cigarettes for my 86-year-old mother who is in great health but shouldn’t be smoking and always promises she will quit when she reaches 100…
… but I digress.
So, I got back to the mysterious Deep Throat texter, “Thanks. Do you know what terminal?”
“No… I’m sorry,” was Deep Throat’s prompt reply.
It’s a big airport, third biggest in the state I’m told, but I was going to be out near the airport rotary buying smokes at Cumbys, so why not gamble a little and take a quick gander?
I flipped a coin and came up with Gate H, one of the two possible gates where a rich-ass-prince would likely arrive… the other gate being practically on the other side of town….
After about 10 minutes of watching island hoppers landing from Nantucket, a large munga jet began to taxi toward Gate H! It was about 6:10 PM… the mysterious tip was beginning to look a little less like someone yanking my chain. I started to think about the old prank phone call we’d make as kids, “Do you have Prince Albert in a can?” (Referring to the Prince Albert brand pipe and cigarette tobacco…) If the shop keeper who answered said “yes,” we’d scream, “Well, let him out! – you freakin’ moron!”
What can I say? Many of us young Hytonians were pranksters in the late 60s, early 70s. Sometimes the cops would have a word with us and I’m still amazed my poor mother made it to her current age…
… but I digress, again. Beg your pardons…
I was rolling on video – as best I could – on the people disembarking from the munga jet and stowing gear in a three car motorcade, accept the shots are not optimal due to the distance, a jet wing, and a stupid fence put there by the airport people.
I again texted Deep Throat, who promptly reiterated he/she needed to remain anonymous, but did provide that Prince Albert was in Woods Hole for a fundraiser for his foundation. (This has yet to be officially confirmed)
HN learned the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is “dedicated to the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale”… and there are definitely some deep pockets with similar ambitions here on Cape Cod… and 224 Quissett Ave is a 6,636 sqft 5 bedroom residence with a “Zestimate” of $8,282,494. So, the information is plausible…
But the HN footage doesn’t quite confirm or rule out anything… but I’m curious to know more. So, I’m turning this mystery over to HN Readers and internet detectives, who possibly have the resources and time to forensically examine the evidence.
I’ll update this if I learn anything new… because it would be cool to confirm whether or not royalty did, in fact, land in Hytown!
