Driver Arrested for OUI Following Single-Vehicle Crash into Utility Pole in Marstons Mills



MARSTONS MILLS, MASSACHUSETTS — A driver was arrested for allegedly operating under the influence after a single-vehicle crash on Route 149 near Chesley Road late Monday evening.
Barnstable Police and Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Firefighters responded to the scene shortly before 11:00 p.m. on December 29, 2025. Upon arrival, responders discovered a sedan with significant front-end damage that had veered off the roadway and collided with a utility pole.
The driver, who remained at the scene, was evaluated by rescue personnel and subsequently transported to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s crime scene unit documented the incident, taking photographs of the scene and evidence found inside the vehicle. The damaged sedan was later removed by Buckler’s Towing.
An Eversource lineman arrived to assess the utility pole, determining that it did not require immediate replacement and that the wiring had remained intact.
The investigation continued at Cape Cod Hospital, where police arrested the driver on suspicion of operating under the influence.
According to Barnstable Police sources, Frederick Asdot Jr., 20, of Cotuit, was charged with Second Offense Operating Under the Influence, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Marked Lanes Violation.
