DRIVER FLEES AFTER CRASHING INTO THICK MARSTONS MILLS SCRUB GROWTH [HN PHOTOS]
MARSTONS MILLS, Massachusetts – A driver fled the scene of single vehicle crash early this morning.
At around 12:15 a.m., Barnstable Police squad cars responded to the area of River Road and Bog Road after a resident reported hearing a car crash. An arriving officer looking for signs of a crash, reported seeing a white male, wearing a white shirt and dark pants, running through a back yard in the area. Moments later, a Toyota Tacoma was discovered deeply lodged in a thicket of scrub growth. It was unoccupied. Officers searched the area for the driver to no avail. The vehicle came back registered to an address on Nye Road in Centerville.
At the time of this report, officers were in the process of tracking down the driver in order to determine the cause of the crash.
UPDATE – 10/20/23: Police caught up to the juvenile driver who was reportedly not injured. He was reportedly issued a citation for motor vehicle offenses, including Negligent Operation and Leaving the Scene, according to police sources.
