East End armed mugging…
Hyannis – Police rushed to the Mini Food Mart on East Main Street today after 1:30pm for a man who had just been “rolled” by two thugs, taken to the ground, and robbed at knife-point.
The mugging victim managed to put up a valiant struggle for about a block before the thugs took off with his backpack…
The knife used during the robbery had a 4 inch blade…
Patrolman Sean Roycroft and K-9 partner Rocky were called in to search the area…
Police also secured surveillance camera images showing both robbers. The first suspect is a black male wearing a black winter hat, red jacket, and jeans, with a medium to heavy build. The second suspect was a white male, wearing a white hoodie, dark (black or navy blue) winter jacket, and dark pants.

Witnesses were interviewed and the victim also told officers that when the two initially approached him they pretended to be asking him for information about the bus…
Police saturated the area, but were unable to catch up to the suspects at this time…
The incident remains under investigation by Patrolman “Gino” Desruisseaux and the Barnstable Police.
In other news:
A short while after the above robbery, police responded to an incident in the area of Oak Neck Road.
A man and woman were sitting at home when someone suddenly threw a patio stone through their kitchen window and took off running on foot.
The couple did not get a good look at the suspect, but a neighbor was able to provide some information…
Police searched the surrounding area and discussed a possible suspect…
The incident remains under investigation by the BPD.
