EAST FALMOUTH – A man told HN he was the homeowner and that the fire started after lightning struck the roof of his house. He told HN he tried to fight the fire himself while firefighters were en route, but it was just too much for him…
HN was broadcasting live in Hyannis as the call came over the radios during a thunder and lightning storm with heavy rain. Falmouth Firefighters first responded to the report of the structure fire on Tashmoo Drive in East Falmouth shortly after 5:00 p.m.. While en route to Tashmoo Drive, a report of a second Falmouth fire on Carriage Shop Road also came in… drawing mutual aid companies from surrounding towns.
