Father spots man driving son’s stolen ATV…
Hyannis – Late Sunday afternoon a father was in a store parking lot near the mall when he looked across Route 28 and could not believe his eyes…
A young man was driving an ATV around the yard of a duplex at 267 & 269 Falmouth Road/Route 28…
The father was stunned… the ATV he was watching belonged to his son and had been stolen not long ago…
The ATV had been stolen from a home about a mile away…
The police were called and the father waited for officers in the parking lot across the street at Mattress World…
Patrolmen Dan Ruth and Peter Myrbeck arrived and investigated the situation and the stolen ATV was located in a wooded area to the rear of the duplex…
A Barnstable County Sheriff’s crime scene photographer was called to take pictures of the scene and stolen property…
Edwin Rivera, age 19, of Hyannis was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property Over $250…
While Rivera was being transported to BPD Headquarters for booking, Officer Myrbeck stayed behind to help kick start and remove the ATV from the wooded area… and eventually up onto the bed of the owner’s pickup truck…
