Firefighters save summer home on Annable Point Road… [VIDEO]
CENTERVILLE – According to a press release, yesterday at about 4:06pm, firefighters from the Center-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department responded with 3 engines and 1 truck company to a reported house fire at 212 Annable Point Road on the shore of Waquaquet Lake.
The fire was reported by a neighbor.
First arriving units reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the first floor of a two story wood frame residential structure.
Firefighters forced entry and entered the structure. The majority of the flames were located and extinguished within the first 10 minutes. Within 20 minutes the entire structure fire was knocked down and declared under control.
The living room sustained heavy fire damage and is considered to be the area where the fire originated. The remainder of the residence sustained moderate heat and smoke damage.
Hyannis Fire Department also responded and assisted at the scene of the fire. Barnstable, West Barnstable, and Cotuit Fire Departments provided station coverage during the fire.
Barnstable Police controlled traffic and protected the narrow access to the scene, ensuring fire equipment wasn’t blocked…
The building was an unoccupied summer lakeside residence. Response time and team work allowed firefighters to quickly control the situation, significantly reducing additional fire damage.
No firefighters were injured as a result of the fire.
