FOOT CHASE: Larceny suspect tried to outrun police… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – A larceny suspect tried to outrun police last evening, despite being well known by Barnstable officers…
The larceny was reportedly from Sears and the total amount of the alleged stolen items was enough to make it a felony offense.
There were two suspects. Police quickly set up a perimeter and remained in the area until they caught one of them… Officers are still looking for the second suspect.
Nate Perkins, age 22, “homeless in Hyannis,” was Charged with “Larceny Over…” and Resisting Arrest. (Corrected: Suspect is age 22, not age 20 as originally posted due to a typing error…)
Perkins reportedly also had default warrants out of New Bedford. The warrants were said to be larceny and heroin related.
The following video highlights officers communicating and capturing the suspect after a foot chase which took officers over fences and into a family neighborhood. Some residents were alarmed as they witnessed the end of a chase which included officers arriving all at once, along with an excited barking K-9 Elvis, who had just been out tracking the suspect just a short while earlier…

Overdose inside the Fitness 500 Club’s locker room… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – Police and rescue rushed to an unusual location for an overdose last evening. Witnesses told HN that a man had overdosed in the locker room area of Fitness 500. The man had needles at his side and his eyes were rolling back in his head, one witness explained. It was a grave situation and it’s a good thing someone found him. Narcan was reportedly administered and the overdose victim was conscious and alert when they lifted his stretcher into the ambulance.
It remains uncertain if he was a member of the fitness club, or if he somehow entered the locker room without permission. Fitness 500 is a popular downtown health club, and not a place which normally draws the response of police and rescue…
The following video highlights the scene.
