CENTERVILLE, Massachusetts – [HN photo notes] – Shortly before 2:00 p.m., a UPS driver was just driving away after delivering package on Cranberry Lane when a rotten branch suddenly broke loose, smashed through the driver’s side window, striking him. He was hurt but able to walk to an awaiting stretcher. His injuries were not life-threatening. He was transported to Cape Cod hospital in a COMM FD ambulance. The Barnstable Police Department is investigating…

No packages were damaged. And additional UPS personnel arrived to pick up the pieces and get things running again… because, as the UPS website states, it’s all about ‘What Brown can do for you!’

(I gotta tell ya, those package deliverers are a rugged bunch! …especially here on the Cape!)

A tree crew also responded to clean up and deal with whatever dangerous tree limb situation still remained. It had been raining steadily at the time of the freak accident and officials wanted to make sure the scene was squared away prior to leaving.
