Full ‘Blood Moon’ of Doom Week: Some blood, some violence, but overall it wasn’t exactly Armageddon…
Hyannis – It was a relatively quiet week by all HyTown standards, despite the ominous midweek Full “Blood Moon” of Doom… which, according to some, signified the onset of a cataclysmic downward spiral leading to Armageddon, or at least the proverbial end of Hyannis as we know it.
To paraphrase Mark Twain, ‘Rumors of our demise have been greatly exaggerated.’
However some would argue, if there ever was a week to live life as if there was no tomorrow, it would have been this past one…
… but despite the doom and gloom projected by the eclipsing of the full blood red moon, Hyannis enjoyed a relatively quiet week in terms of violence.
But that’s not to say we were completely free from pushing and shoving, hooking and jabbing, bloody noses, and the pointing of guns… this, after all, is HyTown.
This morning, as a matter of fact, multiple Barnstable squad cars converged on a Spring Street address for what was initially described as suspicious activity.
Robert J. Perry, Jr., age 23, was taken into custody and charged with Injury to Real or Personal Property after some damage was done to the door jamb at number 57 Spring Street. It wasn’t his door. Why he was messing around with it is still unclear… but police weren’t happy about it and Mr. Perry was hauled off to jail…
In the top photo, Patrolman Jason Sturgis photographed the damage…
