HARWICH – According to police radio traffic, earlier this afternoon, state troopers in the Mid-Cape area responded to a report of a male removing a rifle from the trunk of a vehicle.
A motorist observed the vehicle pulled over somewhere in the area of Route 6. A young male removed the rifle from its sheath and may have put it inside the vehicle…
Details are still developing and, according to troopers, the incident is still being investigated at the Yarmouth State Police barracks…
At least one of the males was in state police custody at the time of this report.
HN will provide arrest details as they become available…
The above images and following video were sent in by Brian Childs, a HN reader. The video was taken quickly and from a distance, so it’s a bit shaky. But according to witnesses, police with handguns and shotguns took each passenger out one at a time, ordering them each to the ground before securing them in handcuffs.
There may have been 3 males inside the vehicle, but that has not yet been officially confirmed.
