Harwich man accused of forcefully raping 9-year-old girl…
BARNSTABLE — According to court documents filed today, October 19, 2018, the defendant was arraigned after being arrested yesterday on a warrant for sex offenses which allegedly occurred on September 1st of 2013 in South Yarmouth.
Brandon Bamford, age 35, of 16 Juniper Lane in Harwich, was charged by the Yarmouth Police Department for Rape of a Child with Force, and Indecent A&B on a Child Under 14-years-old.
(Court documents also show that Bamford has used 22 North Street in Dennis as one of his recent addresses.)
The defendant was ordered to pay $10,000 cash bail. Factors for setting bail included, the defendant’s record of convictions and the potential penalty of “life.” The judge noted the seriousness of the allegations of repeated sexual assaults of a 9-year-old girl which allegedly occurred 5 years ago this past September.
The judge also noted that if Bamford makes bail, he’s to wear a GPS monitoring device. He’s ordered to stay 200 yards away from the victim, her home, and school. He’s to have no communication or contract with the victim. He’s also ordered to have no unsupervised contact with children under 18-years-old.
At the time of this report, Bamford had not posted bail and was being held at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility.
Bamford is scheduled for a Probable Cause Hearing on November 16, 2018.
