POLICE IDENTIFY ALLEGED DRUNK DRIVER WHO STRUCK SUV CARRYING FAMILY OF SIX [UPDATED]
UPDATE – September 29, 2022: Police identified the driver of the pickup truck which struck the family of six in their SUV as George Henry Spalt, age 29, of Centerville. Spalt was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Stop for a Stop Sign.

INITIAL HN REPORT – SEPTEMBER 25, 2022:
MARSTONS MILLS – A male driver, described as being in his late 20s/early 30s, was arrested for drunk driving after he allegedly ran a stop sign and rammed into the side of a SUV carrying a family of six early this morning.
The crash happened shortly after midnight – 9/25/2022 – at the intersection of Osterville/West Barnstable Road and Old Falmouth Road.
The occupants of the black SUV that was t-boned, four young children and two adults, were evaluated by COMM EMTs. The family were on their way home to their nearby residence. The young children had reportedly been sleeping when the crash occurred. The children were visibly shaken – one little boy was crying from the sudden shock – but no one needed to be transported to hospital. There were no reported injuries.
The male driver of the white pickup truck was in custody prior to the above photos. He is being charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Negligent Operation, and Failure to Stop for a Stop Sign. HN will update this report with additional details as they become available. [DEVELOPING]
