HN PHOTOS: Feel free to read between the lines…
[HN NOTES] – Two vehicles pull into a Hyannis family neighborhood, followed by yet another. The two vehicles are being watched and something doesn’t add up for the patrolman tailing them in an unmarked cruiser. Maybe it’s the time of night. Maybe it’s information coming back on a computer check of the registrations. Or maybe there’s a nearby house known for ongoing drug activity. Whatever the reason, one thing leads to another and both vehicles end up being part of a traffic stop. Other marked police cruisers promptly arrive and the stage is set for what turns into a drug investigation.
Two individuals end up being detained. And quiet conversations between officers and the handcuffed individuals take place in backseat cruiser doorways.
Surprisingly, both operators don’t put up much of fuss regarding the sudden change in their evening plans. They just roll with it, even though the roadside detainment and investigation has been going on for about half an hour… and now there’s suddenly a cute little black dog that wants to sniff their outer garments, extremities and private areas. And as all this unfolds, the two still remain seemingly unfazed and cooperative – maybe even a little hopeful.
These mini drug-drama traffic stops play out all evening, every evening. Conversations are had. Deals are discussed. Larger investigations sometimes unfold.
Meanwhile, the rest of the family neighborhood sleeps. Homes with business work trucks parked out front are in darkness, oblivious to what is happening in the streets outside. Children remain sound asleep. It’s a school night.
And sometimes HN will not show the photos of detained individuals involved in these ongoing investigations. At least for the time being… (Feel free to “read between the lines” as to why…)
