HYANNIS – Barnstable Police were tipped off regarding a stolen vehicle possibly being in a parking lot at the corner of South Street and Sea Street this morning, at around 2:30 a.m.

The pickup truck was reportedly stolen during the Sunday/Monday overnight from a Plymouth address, about 3 miles north of the Sagamore Bridge.

It’s uncertain what led up to officers receiving the tip, but the owner shared a photo of his stolen truck on Facebook and the post was shared 262 times.

A member of the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit took photos and dusted for fingerprints.

The investigation is very active and ongoing.
