HN PHOTOS: Woman hurt after vehicle lands on its side…


HYANNIS – A woman was transported to Cape Cod Hospital after her vehicle left the roadway, struck a utility pole and landed on its side early this morning.
Shortly before 7:00 a.m., Barnstable Police patrol units of were alerted of the single vehicle crash on Pitchers Way, just north of the intersection with Beth Lane.
The woman was reportedly still inside the vehicle when officers arrived on scene. She was conscious and alert and able to self-extricate.
Hyannis FD Rescue transported the adult female patient – the only occupant of the vehicle – to CCH with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
A utility pole was snapped at its base and needed repair. There were no wires down or loss of power reported.
Police believe the woman may have suffered a medical emergency just prior to the crash, and the driver is not facing any charges at this time.
