COTUIT – [DEVELOPING] – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, at about 12:20AM this morning, Barnstable Police squad cars rushed to 127 Thankful Lane after someone reportedly “went crazy” with a baseball bat.
A father and daughter reportedly locked themselves in a bedroom after a relative hit them with a baseball bat…
As you will hear in the HN Video, the victims were unable to escape out the bedroom window because of their injuries, with the father saying he thought his arm was broken.
The suspect was also injured, reportedly from also being struck in the head with a baseball bat.
The father and daughter were transported to CCH in separate ambulances.
The suspect was arrested and transported to BPD Headquarters where Hyannis Rescue met and transported him to CCH for what was described as a head laceration.
The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded to collect evidence and take photos.
Barnstable Police were unable to release arrest details at the time of this report because the suspect was related to victims. According to a new Massachusetts domestic violence law, the suspect’s name and arrest details cannot be released until after the arraignment.
The following HN Video mixes the emergency audio with images from the scene. Most of the audio was collected on the way to the scene and does not coincide with the actual on scene footage.
