HN VIDEO: Driver of BMW reportedly threw a beer bottle out window...

WEST BARNSTABLE – [DEVELOPING] – At about 3:12AM, a state trooper was simply checking on what appeared to be a disabled BMW on Route 6 in the area of Exit 6 when the driver reportedly threw a beer bottle out the window and took off on him…

… which, by the way, is not the best way to start off any type of relationship with police.

Needless to say, other troopers in the area took notice and began to saturate the Route 6 area in the pouring rain, very much interested in having a word with the occupants on the fleeing Beamer.

Troopers set up in the area of the Sagamore Bridge, but after a period of time gave up hope that the BMW had made it that far. It appeared the vehicle may have gotten off the highway and evaded officers. That’s when an alert trooper noticed something unusual crashed way up in the woods in the area of Exit 5.

It was the BMW!

The first trooper on scene located a passenger, but the suspected driver was nowhere to be found.

HN arrived on scene just as a couple of staties had caught up to the suspected driver a short distance from the crash scene.

HN spoke Spanish with the passenger to see if he was alright, and he said he was not feeling any pain as a result of the crash… and that he also had consumed at least 6 beers prior to the crash.

Medics checked out both occupants and they apparently refused treatment.

Both individuals were taken into custody.

The Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash.
