HN VIDEO: Falmouth 3 alarm catamaran fire… at least one burn victim…

FALMOUTH – [DEVELOPING] – HN responded to MacDougall’s boatyard at 145 Falmouth Heights Road after firefighters began battling a stubborn hazardous boat fire which sent at least one burn victim to hospital, according to emergency radio transmissions.
As you will see in the following video, HN arrived right after the blaze went from two alarms to three.
The burn victim was initially transported to Falmouth Hospital when Medflight helicopters were unavailable, possibly due to weather. But according to later radio transmissions, the patient was prepped at Falmouth Hospital to be finally airlifted to Brighams and Women’s Hospital in Boston. The severity of the patient’s injuries is unknown at this time.
According to witnesses at a nearby condominium, the catamaran is one of the largest (if not the largest catamaran) in Falmouth Harbor… and people were residing on the vessel.
Firefighters attacked the blaze throughout the early morning hours, until the boat finally sank…
… but that wasn’t the end of it, there was still some hotspots to be knocked down, possibly involving a dock…
Fire command also had to deal with an oil spill, requesting a boom operation to contain the spill. The scene was still active at the time of this report.
The following HN Video highlights the scene…
