HYANNIS – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, at about 7:00 p.m., a Barnstable Patrolman came across a two car collision at the intersection of Basset Lane and Stevens Street.

A female driver, described as being 85-years-old, was entrapped and experiencing pain. She was conscious and alert throughout the entire ordeal. Firefighters needed to use the Jaws of Life to free her. CCH was placed on trauma alert as firefighters evaluated her inside the ambulance at the scene. Her vehicle was heavily damaged and needed to be towed.

The second vehicle, a white Ford van, had front end damage. The two passengers of the van were not injured.

Barnstable Police are investigating the crash.
