FOOT CHASE: Suspect fled from troopers… but he didn’t get far… [HN VIDEO]
UPDATE: According to online sources, the foot pursuit may have actually began as a brief vehicle pursuit. The 24-year-old Fall River man is facing a litany of charges, including Failure to Stop and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. HN will update with official details as soon as they become available.
HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, a male opporator fled a state police traffic stop, leading troopers on a foot chase through the surrounding neighborhood, to the railroad tracks behind DJ’s Wings, where he was ultimately captured…
… with guns drawn, according to one witness.
The initial traffic stop took place shortly before noon at the intersection of Route 28 and Yarmouth Road. The suspect was the sole occupant.
HN was in the area when troopers announced they were chasing someone on Camp Street. Barnstable Patrol Officers were notified of the ongoing pursuit, only to be updated moments later that the suspect was already in custody.
A female driving a red sedan also arrived on scene and was spoken to by troopers regarding the incident…
A Barnstable Police drug sniffing dog arrived on scene to search the area in case the suspect dropped something illegal. Nothing was found…
