HN VIDEO: Two drunk women battle it out in West Barnstable… neighbors report early morning disturbance after young lady goes banging door-to-door…
WEST BARNSTABLE – As you will see in the following HN Video, multiple squad cars needed to make the long drive out to the typically quiet Percival Drive neighborhood after alarmed neighbors called to report two strange women fighting in front yards there…
At about 1:10 am this morning, Barnstable Police received a call from one neighbor saying that a young woman in early twenties had just banged on his door and then took off across the street as if someone was chasing her. Moments later, another neighbor called reporting two women fighting in her front yard. Neither caller knew the women…
At least five patrol cars arrived and separated both women in separate cruisers. As you’ll see in the video, one young lady was so drunk she had trouble standing up.
A police supervisor on scene decided to take one of the women into protective custody for her own good. The second woman was transported to the front lobby of police headquarters to have someone come and pick her up.
HN NOTE: This morning’s shenanigans marks the first time HN has had to respond to the normally quiet West Barnstable Percival Drive neighborhood since May of 2012 – over six and a half years ago – when that neighborhood was once again disturbed, this time by a 200 pound black bear that had somehow managed to either swim across the canal or somehow commute across one of its bridges. (Percival Drive was one of the areas where the Cape Cod Bear was first sighted) In the case of the Cape Cod Bear, officials eventually needed to use tranquilizer darts to take the young bruin into custody. In this morning’s ruckus, police officers were able to safely relocate both intoxicated young mammals without darts or further incident.
