TRESPASSING REPTILE: Woman startled to find snake in her bathroom’s washbasin… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS — Shortly after midnight, a young woman inside her apartment at 257 Stevens Street was startled and scared out of her wits when she found a live snake wiggling around in her bathroom’s washbasin – she told HN she is absolutely terrified of snakes, especially since her grandfather was once bitten by a poisonous snake back in her home country of Nepal. She explained that although her home city of Kathmandu does not have poisonous snakes, her grandfather was snake-bitten when he was in the southern part of Nepal where there are dangerous snakes. Her grandfather’s bite was so bad he required surgery…
Responding police officers were also not very thrilled with having to deal with the young wayward snake, believed to probably be an escaped pet from another apartment inside the same building…
Watch the following HN Video as officers fashion a makeshift snake box, which enabled them to transport the trespassing reptile back to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking…
Officers were not sure what type of snake it was, but it did not appear to be a wild snake from these parts and probably would not be able to survive on its own. Officers planned to have Barnstable Animal Control Officers take custody of the snake later this morning…
