UPDATE – 9PM – 7/5/2022: According to court documents obtained by HN, Anthony “Little Ant” Russ, age 34, of Hyannis is looking at a total of 6 serious felonies allegedly committed on June 30, 2022. The charges on the criminal complaint are as follows:
– KIDNAPPING, FIREARM-ARMED
– RAPE, AGGRAVATED DURING THE COMMISSION OF FELONY
– ASSAULT W/ DANGEROUS WEAPON (FIREARM)
– A&B WITH DANGEROUS WEAPON (KNIFE/CUTTING INSTRUMENT)
– LARCENY FROM PERSON
– WITNESS INTIMIDATION

INITIAL HN REPORT:
BARNSTABLE, Massachusetts – Anthony “Little Ant” Russ apparently can’t stay out of alleged trouble.
According to various law enforcement sources, Anthony Russ was arrested in recent days on what are expected to be very serious charges stemming from an investigation by both the Barnstable Police Patrol Division and BPD Detectives.
The investigation continued throughout the weekend, with patrol officers assisting detectives in seizing an automobile related to the case from the parking lot of Cromwell Court Apartments in Hyannis.
Police could not comment on the exact nature of the charges, but one investigator indicated that it’s a very serious case…
In September of 2016, Little Ant was sentenced to 4 to 10 years in state prison after being convicted in Barnstable Superior Court on drug charges related to possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to distribute. CLICK HERE FOR HN COVERAGE OF LITTLE ANT’S SENTENCING IN 2016…
Russ did a period of time and was recently released into the community again. Sources indicate that Little Ant’s most recent alleged serious crime was not victimless. Police sources did say there will very likely be a media statement very soon and HN will update this report with official details the moment they become available.
