UPDATED: 7-year-old girl taken to hospital after fall from second story… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] – A 7-year-old girl was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after a fall from the second story of an apartment building.
At about 6:30 p.m., police and firefighters arrived at 48 Camp Street and met with the injured child inside of one of the apartments. There was talk about a medflight helicopter, but ambulance workers opted to take the child directly to Cape Cod Hospital, about 3 blocks from the scene.
There was a language barrier and a multilingual Barnstable Police Officer was called to assist.
As you will see in the following HN Video, the child was apparently conscious when being lifted into an awaiting ambulance.
The child’s current condition is unknown at the time of this report.
Officers requested a member of the Barnstable Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit respond to the scene to take photos…
UPDATE: 9:00 p.m. — According to sources, the 7-year-old girl suffered injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening.
