Hyannis Manhunt Ends: 7-Warrant Suspect Eventually Captured After Downtown Foot Chase [HN Video]
HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS – As you’ll see and hear in the following HN dashcam video, a man with seven active arrest warrants — including four defaults and three straight warrants related to motor vehicle theft, resisting arrest, and property crimes — suddenly bolted from Barnstable Police officers in Hyannis’ downtown East End early Monday morning.
Lonne Delahanty, 32, known to frequent downtown Hyannis streets, is no stranger to local police departments. On July 1, 2025, Barnstable Police arrested him during a traffic stop on High School Road in Hyannis (see above HN file photo). Delahanty had been wanted on three arrest warrants: one for alleged larceny of a motor vehicle in Yarmouth in June 2025, and two defaults out of Wareham courts for alleged traffic offenses.
As you’ll see in the HN dashcam footage and police radio audio below, Delahanty initially evaded capture by sprinting down Pleasant Street toward South Street, then behind the Cape Cod Maritime Museum toward Ocean Street. He was later spotted darting behind buildings near South and Pearl streets. Several Massachusetts State Troopers arrived to help Barnstable officers saturate the area and maintain pressure. Barnstable Police confirmed Delahanty was captured later Monday morning.
HN reminder: all defendants are presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
