Juveniles accused of leading police on high speed pursuit down Main Street, Hyannis… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – [HN NOTES] – The fleeing vehicle’s speeds were described as possibly reaching 90 MPH as it took off down Main Street shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning, according to police radio traffic.
As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, Barnstable Police tried to stop a brown Ford Focus in the area of the Cape Cod Hospital. At first the vehicle appeared to be heading into the Town of Yarmouth but officers later reported it had switched directions, ultimately heading west down Main Street so fast that officers eventually reported losing sight of it.
After a bit of research, officers went to check on an address in the Hyannis area. The occupants of the vehicle turned out to be juvenile males. According to radio transmissions, police decided to issue the driver a criminal citation. Both juvenile males were left in the custody of their parents.
FINAL HN NOTE: This chase could have easily ended in death. I hope all involved take that fact to heart. (Names, addresses, and photographic details have purposely been left out this report for the time being… “SMARTEN UP!”)
* All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
