HYANNIS – A man suffered what was described as “multi-system” trauma after smashing his motorcycle through a large metal “rotary” sign earlier this morning at around 12:15 a.m.. The crash happened at the “airport rotary.” It is believed the biker may have slid his motorcycle into the sign…
The biker was described as being about 45-years-old and from Marstons Mills according to one source.
A Medflight helicopter was immediately requested but was delayed, possibly due to weather in the area. The patient was then transported to Cape Cod Hospital by a Hyannis FD Rescue ambulance, where he was stabilized while awaiting Medflight. The patient was eventually airlifted to an off-Cape trauma center shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning.
The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
