HARD-HIT: Uninsured Camaro heavily damaged after uprooting tree…
HYANNIS – A driver is facing motor vehicle charges after his Camaro lost it on a curve and landed in the woods shortly after midnight. He was not injured and did not appear impaired… but his relatively new 2018 Chevy Camaro was heavily damaged and without insurance, according to sources on scene. The driver also did not have a license status, according to police radio transmissions… and he was apparently the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Police responded to the area of Mitchell’s Way and Pitchers Way after a resident in the area heard a loud crash. Upon further investigation, officers located the Camaro crashed into the woods near the intersection of Phillips Road and Mitchell’s Way. The Camaro uprooted a tree it went head-on with… and because of airbag deployment, Hyannis Rescue responded to evaluate the driver just to ensure he was alright. As you will see in the following HN Video, he did not require further care and was not transported.
A member of the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to take photos.
The investigating Barnstable Police Officer requested an Accident Number, along with an Arrest Number. There was no further information available at the time of this report.
