HYANNIS – A driver and his passenger were extremely fortunate to have “walked” away with just minor injuries after the pickup truck they were in slammed into a tree on Bearses Way early this morning.

The vehicle was totaled.

And as you will see in the following HN Video, after being checked out by Hyannis Rescue, the driver was arrested for allegedly operating under the influence.

Police officers had to go and find the passenger to confirm that he was alright. Police then had rescue respond to a nearby apartment building where the passenger was evaluated for minor wounds.

The vehicle was heavily damaged with airbag deployment…

*All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
