HYANNIS – A woman is under arrest this early morning after Barnstable Police prowl cars rushed toward a residence on Mitchells Way for “two parties outside vandalizing” a man’s vehicle…
… officers were also advised the suspects allegedly had weapons, but the caller was unsure what kind.
As you will see in the following HN Video, at around 2:29 a.m., HN was traveling toward the crime scene when the suspect vehicle was caught on dashcam driving away from the scene of the crime.
According to a source, a vehicle at the residence was vandalized to the extent it needed to be photographed by the Sheriff’s crime scene unit. Sources later confirmed the windshield had been smashed in by some unknown object the suspect may have found outside of the residence.
Officers quickly stopped the suspect vehicle, detaining a male passenger along with the female operator.
HN observed that both individuals were read their Miranda Rights… and HN also observed that the female eventually took ownership of the crime, telling officers on scene that she “did it.” She also explained her version of earlier events and according to her statements, she alleged possible mitigating factors that led up to her committing the crime.
The female in the vehicle was criminally charged for the malicious destruction of property…
The male was held in protective custody… and had not been charged with a crime at the time of this report.
* All suspects are presumed to be innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
