HN PHOTOS FROM MONDAY’S CAR WASH SCENE: Civilians, off-duty cop, first responders rushed to help two elderly persons after sedan barreled through fence…
HYANNIS – This was the scene Monday afternoon – December 20, 2021 – at around 2:00 p.m. when an out of control sedan barreled through a fence at the Balise Car Wash on Bearses Way, striking a tree. Two elderly patients were extricated and transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries which did not appear life-threatening at the time these photos were taken.
If the vehicle did not hit the tree, it would have likely continued down a steep embankment into cars in a nearby parking lot.
When HN arrived on scene, civilians and an off-duty cop did all they could prior to EMTs arriving on scene.
The Barnstable Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
