HYANNIS – [HN NOTES] – Barnstable Police were conducting a traffic stop on Route 28 when they came across a handgun and what looked like a part belonging to a rifle. The handgun and firearm parts were collected as evidence. The man was under arrest for Operating Under the Influence, along with other motor vehicle charges. He is also looking at non-disclosed firearm charges, according to a source on scene…

HYANNIS – [HN NOTES] – Friday evening, around midnight, Barnstable Police squad cars were dispatched to Main Street for a report of an intoxicated male who was not wanted at one of the bars. He was allegedly making threats to people while walking in the roadway. The first BPD officer on scene radioed that the man could be heard yelling violently. A state trooper and a BPD patrolman encountered the man in the area of the Hyannis Post Office, where they proceeded to secure him in handcuffs.
According to police sources the man was held in “Protective Custody” until later Saturday morning. Officers were thinking about charging him with Disorderly Conduct but the man reportedly calmed down while in custody.
