*** WATCH *** HYTOWN SHENANIGANS: “Two men with knives” turns out...

HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, officers were off at another call in the East End early this morning when a call came in regarding “two men with knives” trying to get into a nearby motel room. HN was in the area and heard some banging and what sounded like glass breaking just seconds before a Barnstable Police patrolman encountered a possible suspect outside of the motel room in question. Gun drawn, the officer detained the possible suspect while officers continued to investigate. Upon further investigation, the entire situation turned out to be a classic case of Hytown Shenanigans, where what at first seemed like a possible armed B&E in progress turned out to actually be a man locked out of a room where a window was “accidentally” broken. Nobody was charged, but disturbingly, officers closed out the call by describing the room in question as being “positive CODE-19,” according to radio transmissions.
