HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, police and firefighters rushed to an address on Betty’s Pond Road for a house fire. The first police officer on scene radioed that the fire appeared to be extinguished. Firefighters stretched a line to an area in the basement and continued to wet down the area.

According to Captain Nathan Coughlan of the Hyannis Fire Department, the basement area where the fire appears to have started became so hot that plastic PEX pipes melted and brought water down onto the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
