Man tried to stab another with knife…
The following photo shows a Barnstable Patrolman and a Massachusetts State Trooper searching the East End looking for a male who was trying to stab someone. The suspect was reportedly chasing a white male across a parking lot while waiving a knife. Patrols were looking for a black male wearing a white hat, red sweatshirt, and black shorts. Police were unable to locate the suspect or the victim.

THE FOLLOWING ARE HN READER PHOTOS OF THE SUSPECT AND VICTIM!

A HN source obtained the above photos. Also, a witness said they saw the male with the beard jump out of the back seat of a white vehicle. The car was driven by a white female with blond hair and white shirt. The man with the red sweatshirt jumped out of the front passenger seat and started yelling “I’ll [F’in] stab you” at the man with the beard. The man with the red sweatshirt had a knife in his hand and tried to stab the other man more than once, one time just missing the man’s neck.
If you have any information about the above incident, please contact the Barnstable Police Department at 508-775-0387.

This last photo shows Hyannis Firefighters putting out a small fire near the outside wall of the Dunkin Donuts at the intersection High School Road and North Street.

HN NOTE: The busy roads and parking lots in the downtown area indicate summer is now upon us. Police and firefighters are already overextended and burdened with the challenges of providing service to our year-round population. It seems as if the population in HyTown actually doubled today. Lets hope our first responders get extra assistance during this busy time. It was good to see the state police patrolling Hyannis in recent days. But in my opinion, even more uniformed patrols on the street right now would not do any harm.

A photo and message from the Yarmouth Police Facebook page…

“The Yarmouth Police, Fire and Natural Resources Departments responded to a motor vehicle rollover at the intersection of Run Pond Road and Evergreen Road in South Yarmouth. One person was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment. Please be careful when driving and buckle up. This crash could have been much worse if the occupants were not wearing seatbelts. Have a safe holiday weekend.”
