I.C.E. TAKE 2 INTO CUSTODY DURING CENTERVILLE TRAFFIC STOP… RESCUE CALLED FOR DETAINEE [HN PHOTOS]
CENTERVILLE, MASSACHUSETTS – [HN PHOTO NOTES] – As can be seen in the above HN photos, Barnstable Police patrol officers responded to assist Federal Agents at a traffic stop on Craigville Beach Road early this morning, around 7:00 a.m., when one of two detainees became ill.
An undercover U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.)/ Enforcement and Removal Operations (E.R.O.) Agent, along with two other undercover Federal Agents working alongside I.C.E., had stopped a white van near the intersection with Marie Ave. Two individuals were taken into custody, sources say. While being detained, one individual suffered some sort of medical emergency. Barnstable Police officers were called to assist at the scene. A Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills FD ambulance also responded. The patient, an adult male who appeared to be in his late twenties or thirties, appeared barely conscious after being placed onto a stretcher. The patient was transported to Cape Cod Hospital in the C.O.MM F.D. ambulance in custody. An I.C.E. agent followed the ambulance to CCH.
The white van was towed from the scene. No further details were available at the time of this report. HN will provide official updates as they become available.
