JUBILATION IN THE LAND: Osterville Coleman Pond snapper successfully released back into his natural habitat after over one month rehab!!!
I don’t know what made my day more, getting to see a senior, yet resilient, Osterville Coleman Pond snapper being released back into his natural habitat after over one month’s rehab…. or watching Eric Williams of Cape Cod Online’s CapeCast fame doing what he does best, launching the hard hitting no-holds-barred turtle questions that no other journalist dare ask…
Today, Hyannis News met up with Brittany Griffin and Cheslea Tynan of the Cape Wildlife Center for the release of a large male snapping turtle that was struck by a vehicle and left for dead just over a month ago…
Click here to see original Hyannis News coverage of that tragic incident…
Hyannis News isn’t always able to report good news, but today’s story is bound to warm even the hardest and coldest reptiles amongst us… as the good people of Osterville now have one tough snapper back in their midst…
Personally, when I first saw this particular snapper I didn’t think he had much of chance at survival, but thanks to the amazing efforts of all the caregivers at the Cape Wildlife Center, today’s brave turtle gets to SNAP another day!
How awesome is that!?!?
The following video highlight’s today’s release, along with footage of one of the Cape’s leading turtle pundits, part-time reptile enthusiast Eric Williams of the Cape Cod Times! Enjoy… [Press play]
