The building inspector was called due to the heavy damage to the building.

UPDATE — The following is the latest press statement from Sergeant Nicholas Patsavos of the Dennis Police Department:
On 03/16/2018 at approx. 0133 hrs, Dennis Police and Dennis Fire/Rescue were dispatched to Dennis Equipment, 970 Route 134, East Dennis, for a report of a vehicle that crashed into the front of the building. Officer Brendan Sullivan was first on scene and provided first aid to the sole male occupant. Dennis Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene to treat the driver who was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries. The building inspector was called to the scene to assess the damage to the building. Officer Paul McGlynn is investigating the crash. More information may be released after 0900hrs this date.
