BREAKING: Man airlifted after truck left roadway in Sandwich… [VIDEO]

SANDWICH – [DEVELOPING] – This morning, shortly after midnight, police and firefighters rushed to a single vehicle crash after receiving multiple emergency phone calls.

A pickup truck left the Route 130 roadway and crashed into a wooded area across from the intersection with Dogwood Drive.

Medics immediately requested a Medflight helicopter.

According to sources, the young male driver suffered severe head trauma and was considered to be in serious condition. The patient was airlifted to a Rhode Island area trauma center.

An accident reconstruction expert documented the entire crash scene.

The crash is being investigated by the Sandwich Police Department.
