2. Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License (Subsequent 3rd Offense)

4. Speeding
INITIAL HN REPORT:
HYANNIS, Massachusetts – [HN photo notes] – A man was arrested for motor vehicle, drug and dangerous weapon (knife) possession after allegedly backing into a Barnstable Police cruiser during a traffic stop on Center Street earlier this evening – Thursday, 3/7/2024.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m., a patrolman was attempting to make a traffic stop near the intersection of Center Street and Barnstable Road, according to radio transmissions. The driver of a rented pickup truck finally stopped in front of Ying’s Sushi Bar & Lounge on Center Street.
Once pulled over, the man driving the U-Haul allegedly backed into the stationary police cruiser. There wasn’t much damage, just minor dents, but a supervisor was called to investigate the cruiser crash.
According to sources on scene, the driver did not have an active driver’s license. Further investigation led to the drug possession charge…
