MAN’S EAR BITTEN OFF DURING DRUNKEN FIST FIGHT
PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS – According to a Plymouth Police Department media statement, Sunday morning at around 1:00 a.m., two men in North Plymouth got into a “drunken fist fight.”
The two had reportedly been out all day and night on a sightseeing cruise, before continuing their evening of drinking at local establishments.
The two reportedly ended up at a North Plymouth residence, where they got into an argument, and began exchanging punches. At one point, Michael O’Driscoll, 39, of Plymouth got his 40-year-old opponent from Dorchester on the ground and put his mouth around the Dorchester man’s ear.
The man reportedly pleaded “Don’t bite my ear off! Don’t bite my ear!” The pleading went unheeded by Mr. O’Driscoll who allegedly then bit a good chunk of the man’s ear off.
Officers noted that the “two inch” piece of ear was in a cup of ice water upon their arrival.
Michael O’Driscoll was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery with Serious Bodily Injury (Severe Disfigurement) as well as Mayhem.
